ABOUT JAVIER
Javier Taveras is a portrait photographer based in Mackay, working across the Whitsundays and surrounding regions.
Born in Spain and shaped by years across Europe, the Caribbean, and New York — that kind of life teaches you how to read a person quickly, and how to make them feel at ease in front of a lens.
His work has been published in National Geographic and The Sydney Morning Herald, and recognised in Australian Photography’s Photographer of the Year.

Sessions are guided, not rigid. There’s a clear direction to every hour — how the light is placed, how you’re moved through a space — but room within that for something unscripted to happen.
